Welcome
L.E.E.P. – Life Empowered Employee Plan is a business initiative that will make work/life employee benefit programs accessible to small businesses at affordable prices. Historically, the large number of employees required for participation in Employee Assistance Plans and other work/life benefit programs has made it financially unfeasible for small employers to provide these enriched employee benefits.  This put small business at a competitive disadvantage. L.E.E.P. removes this and other barriers.

Medium-size and large employers have found that Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and other work/life programs have multiple business rewards. These include:
  • Boosting employee productivity
  • Reducing absenteeism
  • Providing the tools to reduce health insurance and short-term disability claims
  • Enhancing employee attraction and retention.
L.E.E.P. will create mechanisms for employees and their families to obtain professional assistance when coping with life challenges that may impede their work performance. Professional counseling and coaching will be provided face to face, by phone or online for employees being challenged by personal issues such as alcohol or substance abuse, stress, marital conflict, financial difficulties and elder or child care. All services will be on a short-term basis; referrals will be provided when needed, based on professional assessments.

As L.E.E.P. gains a foothold in the marketplace, its menu of services will expand to include wellness, financial planning, career development, business consulting and coaching and other work/life programs to help customers enhance the quality of their work and personal lives.

The end-user market for these products and services consists of small businesses and organizations.  Small businesses and other small employers will buy into the program via intermediaries, including business service providers, third party administrators, business and professional associations and chambers of commerce. This is similar to how many small employers and sole proprietors currently buy into health insurance plans.

By spreading risk among a large group of employers and employees, L.E.E.P. will allow employers and employees in small organizations to pay just a few dollars a month per employee, giving them access to a range of services. Incentive plans will be used to encourage employees to take advantage of wellness, work/life and coaching programs that are outside of HIPAA compliance.

A consortium of vendor companies will provide end-user products and services, including traditional EAP services, coaching and consulting. Employees will be prompted to visit provider web pages to learn more about the program and how to use their membership rewards.
